About the PCDWA
What we do
We make it easy for you to connect with like-minded neighbors by holding monthly meetings and occasional social activities. So that you can be a more informed voter, we provide the opportunity to meet local Democratic candidates face to face. We will give you updates on local, state or federal legislative issues that may be important to you.
We participate in a wide variety of grassroots activities to increase democratic voter turnout in our precincts. We give you information about actions you could take to make a difference.
If you’d like to get more involved, we can help you find something that fits your lifestyle and skill set. It’s okay to be a beginner; most of us were not politically active until quite recently. No pressure; everyone chooses their own level of engagement.
What We Don’t Do
The PCDWA does not endorse specific candidates. We do not tell you what to think or how to vote. Instead, we ask you to think for yourself and vote your conscience. We welcome respectful civil discussion, but please, no drama.
We are not a PAC (political action committee). The PCDWA does not make or solicit financial contributions for specific campaigns, the Democratic party, or any political organization. Our members are free to participate in any fundraising activity they choose, as private citizens.
We respect your privacy. We don’t share your email or contact information with anyone. There is no cost to join our group, but from time to time, we may ask you to help pitch in to cover expenses. We don’t sell anything and won’t allow others to use our group for commercial purposes.
Mission Statement
The Park Cities Democratic Women’s Association is a politically active group of progressive and independent thinking women based in University Park and Highland Park, Texas. We believe Dallas is a rapidly growing commercial and cultural center with an increasingly diverse population. We believe the Park Cities is a wonderful place to live and raise our families. We recognize that our community is changing, and we believe our elected officials should reflect this change. Our mission is to provide opportunities for our members to engage in meaningful grassroots activities that will make a difference in local, state and national elections.
