It feels to us like this election has lasted for the last eight years! You, too? The end is finally in sight, but that doesn’t mean we can relax just yet. There are still lots of actions we can take to turn the Park Cities blue!
(page down to see specific actions YOU can do! )
First, Take a Bow!
We killed it in “Do Something” September!
3 events!!
More than 50 event attendees
4 dozen block walking volunteers
Over 1300 doors knocked in one weekend!
So, what do we do next?
Come to our October 16 Meeting!
Always worth saying: Men are welcome! Bring your like-minded friends, and especially your Democrat-curious Republican friends!! Let’s show them we don’t bite!
October’s Special Topic: The State of the State:
How Close Are We to Turning Texas Blue?
It’s just a matter of time, right? Demographics tell us Texas is destined to turn blue: but this can’t come soon enough! We’re all working full time to speed up the transition. Are we close? Kendall Scudder, Vice Chair of the Texas Democratic Party Finance Committee, has been traveling the state for the TDP. He’ll let us know what he’s seeing for November.
This month - let’s turn the Park Cities Blue!
The question we get most often is: what can I do? I need to do something!! October is (almost) our last chance to make a difference! But there’s still a lot going on!
The battle of the yard signs has begun!
Have you noticed the sudden influx of MAGA signs? Yard signs have more impact than you think! Persuadable Rs and Independents can be influenced if they think they’ll be alone if they vote Democratic in November. Wear your heart on your front lawn!! Email info@pcdwa.org to add your lawn to the Park Cities blue wave!
We’re still block walking!
Campaigns are reaching out to independent voters. Most independent voters need accurate information about the issues and the stances of candidates on both sides. If you’d like to help, RSVP here. Turn Park Cities Blue Volunteer Form - Google Forms
Postcards are still a thing, too!
Block walking doesn’t work in locked high rises and gated townhome communities. To reach these voters, we’re sending postcards encouraging them to vote Democratic all the way down! Want to help? Put your name on the list for postcard parties: RSVP here using this Turn Park Cities Blue Volunteer Form
Be a poll greeter!
Just standing at the polls with a sign shows voters your candidate has support. If they haven’t focused on that race yet, it could be the difference between voting for your “guy” or skipping that race (or, worse, voting for the incumbent)! If you’re more extroverted, handing out lit has an even greater impact! Plus, it’s fun!
Talk to your Democrat-curious neighbors:
Neighbor-to-neighbor conversations are the most effective means of conveying political information
Your neighbors - especially women - are searching for alternatives to Trump and MAGA (you probably know who they are!)
Ask your soccer mom friends: “what did you think of the VP debate?”
Invite these friends to PCDWA events!
